Do you ever experience seeing or being 'touch' by a ghost or spirit before?

If you do, what is the feeling like? Scared? Nervous?

If you have not try this, what are you going to do? Try it?

As for me, I don't like either ghost or something mysterious that will scare me to death. I don't like trying or play dare just to test your courage of how brave you are. I have friends possessed by spirits or ghost before. I seen them acting strange and not being their own self. It is kind of scary for me to see and experience it myself.

There are many haunted places in Malaysia that may make our spines chill and gives us goosebumps. Have you been one of any before? Let me warn you before you start wandering off to those scary places. It is not wise to disturb them and their territory. You will have fun and feel exciting at the beginning, but later you will regret and start to have nightmares for the rest of your life.

Pudu Jail

The official announcement  that was made to the public regarding the infamous Pudu jail that is to be brought down and demolished. The infamous Pudu jail was built in phases by the British colonial government between 1891 and 1895. Works of deconstructing has taken place within the premise itself as the surrounding walls of the Pudu Jail was brought down including the famous arc that resembles the front gate entrance of the jail. The historical Pudu jail is a national treasure but due to its black history and the structure itself located in the middle of Kuala Lumpur, it has been a problem to the ever growing fast paced city center causing obstacles to developments that include  road widening projects, new buildings, and much more.

The Pudu jail was built on the site of a former Chinese burial ground.  During world war 2 the Japanese occupation forces  incarcerated many allied prisoners of war there. The history of the pudu jail itself is very brutal and dark.  In June 2010, the eastern wall of the Pudu Prison complex was destroyed to make way for a road widening project. According to the government, it’s an eye sore to have the Pudu jail structure located in the middle of  Kuala Lumpur especially since its the capital state of Malaysia.  It is the fastest growing metropolitan region in the country, in terms of population and economy.

Pudu jail was said to be very haunted, as the prisoners that were hung there are still haunting the place and very much active and still living the life’s of the prisoner even in the afterlife. This could be due to forgiving issues, which they can’t forgive themselves for what they might have done while some don’t realize that they are actually dead.

There is not much room within the cell, just a stone bed and a small window that you can barely see anything. The jail cell door is extremely strong and heavy. It was made with Iron and other materials. It is impossible to break such a door if any prisoner happen to plan any escape in such a close confined Pudu Jail.

“We normally shout out loud that we are merely trying to make a living and tell whatever that’s out there to leave us alone,” he says.

Haji Aziz Haji Idris tells of an encounter while on duty at one of the guard towers when he was still a young officer.

“It was shortly after midnight and I was on night duty with another person when I saw an officer approaching. As we had been trained, I banged my rifle on the floor and shouted out ‘Everything all right, sir!”

Aziz says the figure said nothing but raised his hand, and then suddenly disappeared.

He also remembers one particular bunk in the warder’s dormitory which everyone tried to avoid.

“Anyone who slept there would be sure to feel an unseen force pressing down on his chest. They may try to shout or move but will be helpless to do anything,” he says, adding that some would rather sleep on the floor than use the bunk.

Abu Bakar also recalls a weird phenomenon – a ball of fire the size of a football that suddenly appeared and rolled out of sight.

“It happened every once in a while, and in cycles. Everyone would be talking about it for a while,” he says.

But the scariest tale is that of a recurring apparition of a woman. Aziz believes it was the ghost of a woman who was hanged there.

“She had tried to kill herself previously by slitting her throat. She survived but before she was fully recovered, the execution order came,” he says.

“She was brought to the execution chamber and hanged – but because of the injury, her head was literally torn off. It was a gruesome death and that is the ghost that many people have seen.”

He recalls an encounter with this apparition.

“I was on duty at Block D, where death row is located, and directly above the execution chamber is a huge anchor stone.

“Out of the corner of my eye I saw a figure sitting on this stone. Malays believe ghosts’ feet do not touch the ground, and when I bent over to look, the figure disappeared,” he says.

But a fellow officer’s encounter was even more shocking.

“Once, a police officer was interviewing prisoners and it was getting late. However, he said that he could interview one more, and I went down to bring another one.

“As he was filling in some forms he saw a figure sitting down. Thinking it was another prisoner he looked up, only to see a headless woman with blood flowing down her chest. The officer ran down the stairs as fast as he could,” he says.

Aziz believes Pudu Prison is a very “dirty” place and in some places is a giant graveyard.

“During World War II, the British buried Japanese soldiers there, and when the Japanese took over, they buried the British there.

“The ghosts here are real,” says Aziz.

According to old police record, the security killed two American children and the maid, cut their bodies up into pieces and dumped them in the sewage tank. Yes, this is a true story.

Villa Nabila, Johor Bahru

Situated on a hillside facing Johor’s popular Danga Bay, Villa Nabila is prime property, which may lend credence to the stories that it’s haunted, as a prime property house like that isn’t commonly abandoned.

This mystery really interests me a lot although there were many versions of stories behind the mystery.

1st version:

There were a rich family living a harmonious life in this villa. But, unfortunately, the parents died and left a daughter named Nabila. After the parents died, the daughter live with her maid. Nabila is said to be inherit a big fortune of inheritance from her parents. The maid killed Nabila and cement her body in one of the place in the villa.

It is very hard for us to believe this story, because the intention or the reason of the maid of killing the master's daughter (Nabila) is never known to anybody until now.

2nd version:

(This version of story is well-known to many people.)

Nabila has a very rich family. One day, her house was robbed and everyone in the household was cruelly killed. The bungalow were left unoccupied until now and have many shrubbery all over the bungalow.

3rd version:

Nabila's family had been robbed. Nabila was raped before she was killed cruelly by the robbers. Her body then was buried inside the wall of the villa.

4th version:

Originally, Nabila had a very wonderful family. But one day, Nabila's father went rampage and killed everyone in the household and he commit suicide after killing everyone.

5th version:

(Too dramatic for me.)

This villa was named
Christine Palace after the name of a wife of a business man from the west. It was said that before building this villa, the husband promised the 6 siblings (that was in his native land) to divide the land accordingly. But, when this husband get the land, he renege his promise. The 6 siblings felt very angry. Later, the siblings who went mad send 2 representative to deal this matter with the husband. Don't know what happen, the 2 representatives that were sent by the siblings went rampage and threatened the husband to divide the land to the others after killing his daughter. But, the husband was still stubborn. The 2 representatives then killed his wife. But still, the husband do not want to follow the order due to his greed. At last, the husband was killed by the representatives too. The villa now still stayed unoccupied for almost 70 years.

Sungai Besi Highway and The Little Girl

A true story from a friend, a business man who used to work until very late at night and would return from his office, using the Sungai Besi Highway to get back home. A guy who would usually speed as fast as possible so he could reach home in the most minimal time to accompany his wife at home.
At one rate, he finally did get caught by the traffic police at the Sg Besi Highway. They stopped him and told him that they have taken pictures of him speeding along the highway which somehow would cause him a fine. He obliged but only with the proof that he was really speeding.

A few weeks passed and finally the police contacted him. They told him that he could get the pictures that they have taken at the police station and told him to drop by that very evening. Curious with the commotion, he went.
To his surprise, he was questioned by the police officer who was the driver in his car and pointed to him a photograph of a little girl smiling at the camera sitting on the driver’s seat, the very seat that he was sitting on at that time. Nevertheless, he was fined and given a good warning about putting a child on his lap while he was driving. It never occured to him that something was wrong because he was very sure that there was probably something wrong with the camera at that time.

After that photograph incident, he continued to speed back home. However, this time, things were slightly different. Each time he passed by the Sg Besi Highway, he would see a child waiting by the road side. It never occured to him that she was the supernatural sort because he was so preoccupied with getting back home.

One day, curiosity got a better hold of him. He slowed down his car to see the little girl and to his shock, she was the same girl that he saw on the photograph a few weeks ago at the police station. Goosebumps ran through his spine as he hit the pedal and passed the smiling little girl.
The next day, the same girl was standing by the road side. This time, she waved to him.

One of the horror and mysterious highway stories that we have heard. Many legends and stories were being rumored on incidents happened on highways. But, this is o
ne story originates by a self experienced friend.

Aeroplane Bungalow (Mona Fendy’s house), Behind Leisure Point, Cheras

For those who don’t know, Mona Fandey was a popular bomoh back in the 90′s, and reportedly used black arts to help many politicians to achieve power. She was executed in 2001 for murdering politician Mazlan Idris in 1993 while conducting a ceremony to invest him with power. It’s reported that Mona, along with her husband, had Mazlan lie down while they conducted a ceremony, before dismembering and partially skinning Mazlan. At her execution, she claimed “I will never die,” and her house is supposedly haunted due to the black arts she practices there.
